The other day I was wondering, “Why do so many people think ebay is a scam and they won’t make any money”? I sat at my desk for a while and finally decided I wanted to see what others are saying on the ebay forums and so I went to ebay and found out.  Here is what I learned from many people that are attempting to make money from ebay and what my advice to them is.

“I have had an ebay store for 3 months now and I can’t even make enough to pay for the store”

My conclusion after I talked with this person for a while was they were only selling about 12 items per month and the prices were way too high. If you want to sell using an ebay store then you need to list at least 50 items per month to make it worth it and you have to be competitive with your pricing.

“I buy used electronics but for some reason they don’t sell and I get stuck holding onto them”

This was a tough one to get to understand that electronics aren’t even the biggest item on ebay, clothes are. I first had to let this guy know that it is tough to sell used electronics for retail price when there are so many people selling brand new electronics for below retail. When you plan on buying items with the intent to sell then you should do lots of research first so that you will at least make some profit.

These were only 2 of the 7 people that I spoke with and as you can see they have had some problems but are now back on track. The entire point of this article is to show you how you can be on track without making one of the many mistakes that I found newbies making. If you are ready to earn cash from an ebay store then you need to follow these tips and tricks so that you can be as profitable as the big timers.

List many items – If you want to make money then don’t set yourself short by only listing 10-20 items per month. My advice is to at least list 50 items because that will ensure that you are putting your ebay store to good use. The best thing to do is mix up the items that you sell at first because often times you won’t have all winners so you need to cut out the items that are making you lose money and stick with the winners.

List to sell – The whole point of listing things on ebay is to sell them so make sure you do yourself a favor and don’t over price all your stuff. It is better to make a little profit then nothing at all. When it comes to earning cash from an ebay store you need to list items for a little bit less than your competition because the second they see you are lower they are going to lower their price in order to get the sales.

On ebay it is all about making your product look better so what you need to do is think about what you are going to write about your product and also take a good picture. If you don’t have a digital camera that takes high quality pictures then I suggest getting a new one because dark and blurry pictures just don’t sell products. If you want to earn fast cash with ebay then you need to follow these few tips and tricks and make sure you are being competitive in the market.
