As a freelance writer there are some things that I am always trying to do and one of those things is to get more freelance clients. The reason I try to get more and more freelance writing clients is because the more I can get the more opportunities I can make money and expand my business.

What some people think is that you only need 1 good client and that is partially true but you also need to have a constant stream of work. I used to think that 1 client was enough to pay my bills and give me and my family the life we wanted until something happened.

My 1 client decided to sell his 3 websites right before Thanksgiving so that he could give his family a dream vacation and buy his wife a car.

Although this was nice for his family, it was not for me and mine. When I lost my client I then had to work through the holidays and find more work and more clients. Even on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning, I was working. This is where I realized that I needed to make a change for me and my family.

And so I did.

Now on any given day I will write articles and do link building for at least 3 different people and up to 8 people. This is why I have built my business 1 client at a time and showed them that when they send me an email, I will get right on the project that they want me to do.

With my new strategy I now have roughly 126 clients that email me daily, weekly, and others monthly giving me more work. If you think this number is a bit overkill – I do too but at least I will not have to work another holiday in my life. If you want to make a change in your life then spend Thanksgiving and Christmas away from your family while you work. This will not only change you, it will motivate you like never before.

Why You Need More Clients

Build A Business

In my eyes the more clients you have the better your business will be. In life it is not all about quality because like you saw above some things change suddenly. Don’t put yourself in a position that many others are putting themselves in right now, get more clients and live the life you want to live because of your freelance writing.

Increase Income

One of the things that some people realize very quickly is the more clients they have means the more money they will make. Although this is not always true, for the most part it is. Having more clients will get you more money and that is why I recommend doing it. Don’t just take all your clients for granted and try to get them to pay you for something and never give them their work or money back. You need to build your business on hard work and great content and with that the money and the clients will follow.

Expand Your Online Presence

Another reason why I believe you should have the most clients as possible is because the more you have the more others will know about you. When it comes to marketing one of the things that you need to know is that for every person you know, they know another 100 people. By my calculation that means for my 126 clients I should have access to at least 1260 people through my already made contacts. Now that is a huge business that I am sure anybody would love to run (or at least collect the checks).

Tips To Get More Freelance Clients

Email Bloggers

Something that I have been known to do is email different bloggers letting them know about the services that I provide. The reason I actually email people is because I know that some bloggers are just too busy to do everything on their own so they hire out the work. If You don’t email people then they might not find you.

Email Companies

Just like I do with other bloggers, I email companies as well. The nice thing about emailing a company is they have other companies that they network with so once you get on the good side of one company you will be able to ask for a referral and get all their friends. Trust me, a company will pay a lot more for 1 article than a blogger will and that is why I like to mix in a few companies here and there.

Participate On Forums

If you are not a member of at least 2 different forums then you need to be. The reason why I say this is because you can get a lot of good clients on the forums. I know that I have been able to get a few jobs through Digitalpoint and Warriorforums. Just try it for a few months and see where it gets you, you really don’t have anything to lose.

As you can see, having a lot of clients is a good thing. Don’t treat your freelance writing like a hobby (even if it is), you need to treat it like a business. Trust me, once you have done some of the things I have done with my freelance business you will start to realize why the more clients you have the better your business will be.
