Something that I highly recommend is to write and submit a press release to a lot of local companies. The reason why you do this is so that you get your name out there very quickly. There are a lot of great press release companies online that will do the entire press release for you and the best part is the price is fairly cheap. The trick to getting the most out of a press release is to do one every time you have something to say or offer to the public (such as yearly discounts).

Hire A Cold Caller

Something that I have done for some people that I help advertising for is hire a cold caller to get people to know about their company. Recently I hired a cold caller from the Philippines to call people around the Portland, Oregon area to market a local business. The trick here is to hire a cold caller to call people for 2 hours a day and just tell them about your business. For 2 hours per day I paid my cold caller $3 per hour. The only thing I would make sure of is that you test the person English before you use them because that could ruin everything for you.

Door To Door Marketing

When I started my very first landscaping business I used door to door marketing as my form of advertising and it worked like a charm. I printed off 200 flyers and after all of them were passed out I had 18 clients. Most people think that door to door marketing is dead and for some businesses it is but not all of them. The trick here is to not just target individual areas, you need to split test what you are doing to see what areas respond the best to your service. My advice would be to print off 1000 flyers and then hand out 200 every other week. The reason you do this is because then you will know where people are calling you the most from. Note where more people are calling you from and then stick to neighborhoods just like that one.

As you can see, these are not the typical ways to market any business and that is why they work so well. What most people don’t do enough of is market their new business and if you don’t let people know you are there then nobody is going to use you. Trust me, with a little bit of marketing you will be able to take your service business from where it is right now to where you want it to be.
